The invention discloses an autoclaved aerated concrete block. The autoclaved aerated concrete block comprises, by weight, 80-120 parts of lime, 40-60 parts of cement, 400-500 parts of fly ash, 150-200 parts of steel slag, 50-120 parts of iron tailings, 70-90 parts of gypsum, 10-16 parts of aluminum powder, 60-120 parts of an air entraining agent and 10-20 parts of a modified foaming agent. The invention further discloses a preparation method of the autoclaved aerated concrete block. The invention relates to the technical field of production of concrete blocks, and concretely provides the autoclaved aerated concrete block and the preparation method thereof. By adding steel slag and tailing iron ore, the problem that the autoclaved aerated concrete block is low in strength due to addition of fly ash is solved to a great extent; and the steel slag and the iron tailings are low in economic cost and suitable for comprehensive popularization.
