The invention relates to a waterproof structure for an expansion joint of an urban underground pipe gallery and a construction method of the waterproof structure. The waterproof structure comprises pipe gallery bodies which are sequentially and adjacently buried in the ground; a first annular protrusion is arranged at one end of each pipe gallery body; a first annular groove is formed in the side, provided with the corresponding first annular protrusion, of each pipe gallery body; a second annular groove allowing the first annular protrusion of the adjacent pipe gallery body to be inserted therein and a second annular protrusion inserted into the first annular groove of the adjacent pipe gallery body are arranged at the other end of each pipe gallery body; sealing annular grooves are formed in the positions, on the outer sides of the first annular protrusions and the outer sides of the first annular grooves and the outer sides of the second annular protrusions and the outer sides of the second annular grooves, of the two ends of each pipe gallery body; and sealing ring pieces are inserted into the sealing annular grooves, opposite to each other in an abutting manner, of the adjacent pipe gallery bodies. The waterproof structure has the beneficial effects that water seepage of the expansion joint is reduced, and installation is convenient.
