The invention discloses a method for reducing flood sundries and disasters. A device which is convenient to connect in a river channel and is used for collecting and washing sundries flushed down by a flood is used, so that the impact of various sundries falling down along with water flow in flood disasters on an embankment is reduced as much as possible, the entrained sundries are collected to the embankment, and sundry deposition of the whole river channel is reduced.
