The invention discloses steel ladle aluminum-magnesium refractory mortar capable of recycling refractory dust collection powder and a preparation method thereof. The steel ladle aluminum-magnesium refractory mortar is prepared from the following raw materials in percentage by mass: 5.0%-90.0% of refractory dust collection powder, 5.0%-30.0% of corundum fine particles with the particle size of 0.5-0.15 mm, 2.0%-20.0% of fused magnesia fine particles with the particle size of 0.5-0.15 mm, 1.0%-10.0% of corundum micro powder and/or alpha-type activated alumina micro powder, 0.5%-5.0% of silica micro powder, 0.1%-1.5% of a water reducing agent, 0.01%-1.0% of a plasticizer and 0.01%-1.0% of a preservative. The preparation method comprises the following steps: firstly, adding the refractory dust collection powder into a mixing mill, then adding the water reducing agent, the plasticizer and the preservative, uniformly mixing, then adding the other raw materials, continuously uniformly mixing, and discharging to obtain the steel ladle aluminum-magnesium refractory mortar.
