The invention discloses a system and a method for simulating ecological restoration of an urban river channel. The system provided comprises a first water tank for simulating the urban river channel; an overflow weir is arranged on the first water tank and used for controlling the water level and the flow speed in the first water tank; a habitat simulation device comprises a sensor and a data analysis module connected with the sensor, and is used for measuring and analyzing habitat influence factors of preselected fishes in the first water tank, so that the habitat suitability of the preselected fishes is obtained. According to the system, the habitat suitability of t fishes in the urban river can be obtained, and a scheme is provided for ecological health conditions or recovery potential of the urban river.
