The invention discloses a microporous graphite crucible for a negative electrode material ,and a manufacturing method thereof. The microporous graphite crucible comprises the following components: petroleum coke particles, a pore forming agent and a binder. The method comprises the following steps: crushing petroleum coke, screening petroleum coke particles, carrying out dry mixing on the petroleum coke particles and a pore-forming agent, adding a binder, carrying out wet mixing, putting a wet material obtained after wet mixing into a mold, molding, roasting, graphitizing to obtain a crude product, and finally machining to obtain the finished product of the microporous graphite crucible. The obtained microporous graphite crucible can discharge volatile components in a negative electrode material in time in the graphitization process of the negative electrode material, so that crucible explosion and furnace spraying accidents are prevented.
