The invention provides an expansion joint flat pressing structure and method of a hydraulic structure, and belongs to the technical field of water conservancy and hydropower engineering. The flat pressing structure comprises a hydraulic structure and a flat pressing assembly. The hydraulic structure is built between two banks of a river body and provided with a plurality of expansion joints. The flat pressing assembly is arranged in the expansion joint and comprises a pipe network and a caulking material. A water outlet and a water inlet of the pipe network communicate with the upstream, facing the river body, of the hydraulic structure. Through holes are fully distributed in the pipe wall of the pipe network, and the caulking material is filled between the expansion joints of the pipe network. According to the expansion joint flat pressing structure, the water pressure in the expansion joint between the expansion joints of the hydraulic structure can reach hydrostatic pressure, the pressure change of the water pressure in the expansion joint is kept synchronous with the water pressure change of the upstream or the downstream, it is ensured that the actual application of the hydraulic structure is consistent with the design working condition, and stability and safety are improved.
