Provided is a sanitary pottery having both low water absorbency and light weight. The sanitary pottery is provided with a vitrified porcelain pottery body and a glaze layer, a part of the body is not provided with the glaze layer and is exposed to the outside, the body contains (A) anorthite and (B) an alkali metal component, and the amount of the alkali metal component is 5-10 wt% in terms of oxide (A2O) relative to the body.
