The invention provides polymer internal curing mortar and a preparation method thereof, and belongs to the technical field of building materials. The invention provides polymer internal curing mortar. The polymer internal curing mortar is prepared from the following components in parts by weight: 450 to 500 parts of cement, 1,350 to 1,500 parts of standard sand, 18 to 20 parts of a polymer internal curing material, 2.25 to 6.75 parts of calcium nitrite and 225 to 250 parts of water. According to the invention, calcium nitrite is used as an inorganic early strength component, the polymer internal curing material is modified by using calcium nitrite, calcium nitrite can promote cement hydration and ensure stable increase of early strength, and while the internal curing property (adjusting the internal humidity of mortar and inhibiting shrinkage) of the traditional polymer internal curing material is ensured, the problem that early strength of polymer internal curing mortar can be reduced in the early stage of cement hydration is solved, and compared with blank group mortar without addition of any additive, the strength is not reduced.
