The invention discloses a method for microwave synthesis of 4YSZ nano zirconia thermal barrier coating powder. The method comprises the following steps: preparing a precursor; carrying out vacuumizing treatment on the precursor under heating and stirring conditions, stopping vacuumizing when crystal water in the solution forms a gas-liquid saturated stable state, and keeping the gas-liquid saturated stable state; introducing the mixture in the gas-liquid saturated stable state into microwaves to remove organic matters so as to form an yttrium-zirconium uniformly mixed amorphous solid; and carrying out residual organic matter removal treatment on the amorphous solid substance to generate the 4YSZ powder. The method disclosed by the invention has the beneficial effects that the problem of zirconium ion hydrolysis is solved, preliminary uniform mixing of zirconium ions and yttrium ions is realized, the yttrium-zirconium solid solution is realized by utilizing microwaves, the hydrolysis of zirconium is avoided, and the uniform mixing of each component in an atomic state is realized, so that the obtained thermal barrier coating powder is uniform in grain size, good in stability, high in purity and suitable for stable and efficient production.
