The invention belongs to the technical field of bridge floating dragging construction, and particularly discloses a steel truss girder floating towing stability control system and method. The stability control system comprises a pontoon, an observation mark, an intelligent total station and a microcomputer control module, a front water tank and a rear water tank are respectively arranged at the front and rear ends in the pontoon; and a floating pier is arranged over a pontoon cabin. In the floating towing process of the steel truss girder, the front water tank and the rear water tank are located at the two sides of the floating towing end of the steel truss girder respectively, the floating pier supports the floating towing end of the steel truss girder, the intelligent total station measures the elevations of the two sides of the steel truss girder in real time and feeds back the elevations to the microcomputer control module, and according to changes of the elevations of the two sides of the steel truss girder, the microcomputer control module adjusts the balance of the two ends of the pontoon by correspondingly adjusting the water amount of the front water tank or the rear water tank, so that the pontoon is kept stable, and the balance of the steel truss girder is guaranteed. The system is high in feedback speed, high in adjustment accuracy and particularly suitable for occasions where the pontoon is influenced by water flow force, wind force, ship navigation and the like and needs to be adjusted in real time.
