The invention relates to the technical field of concrete, in particular to mineral powder for asphalt concrete as well as a preparation method and application of the mineral powder. The mineral powder for the asphalt concrete comprises the following components: at least one substance selected from green mud and white mud, fly ash, slag and waste ore powder, wherein a weight ratio of the at least one substance from the green mud and the white mud is 50-80%, and the balance is a mixture of the fly ash, the slag and the waste ore powder. The preparation method of the mineral powder for the asphalt concrete comprises the following steps: S101, drying at least one substance selected from the green mud and white mud until a water content is lower than 3%; and S102, adding the fly ash, the slag and the waste ore powder into the substance dried in the step S101, carrying out mixing, and pouring the mixture into a flour mill for milling after mixing to obtain ore powder. By adopting the above technical scheme, the problem that the environment is polluted in existing treatment processes of the green mud and the white mud is solved, and the green mud and the white mud can be turned into wealth and are used for preparing the mineral powder for the asphalt concrete.
