The capillary self-irrigation greening device comprises a planting container, planting soil, capillary cotton felt, a water storage tank, a water supply pipe, a liquid level controller and the like, wherein the planting container is located above the water storage tank, and a strip-shaped opening is formed in the planting container; and the lower portion of the capillary cotton felt penetrates into the position below the liquid level of the water storage tank, the upper portion of the capillary cotton felt and the planting soil form a contact face with a certain area at the bottom of the planting container, the planting soil does not make direct contact with a water body in the water storage tank, and water needed by greening plants is transmitted into the planting soil from the water storage tank through the capillary cotton felt and then absorbed.
