The invention provides a phosphorite calcining system which comprises a calcining kiln and a calcining gas treatment subsystem, the calcining gas treatment subsystem comprises a cyclone separator, a dust removal bag, a washing tower and a solid-liquid mixing tank, and the cyclone separator is connected with the calcining kiln and used for separating calcining tail gas to obtain first powder and a first gas-solid mixture; the first powder is input into a solid-liquid mixing tank, the first gas-solid mixture is input into a dust removal bag to be separated to obtain second powder and a second gas-solid mixture, the second powder is input into the solid-liquid mixing tank, the second gas-solid mixture is input into a washing tower to obtain washing liquid and washing gas, and the washing liquid is input into the solid-liquid mixing tank. The invention further provides a method for treating phosphorite calcination tail gas by applying the phosphorite calcination system. According to the phosphorite calcination system, the utilization rate of powder in phosphorite calcination tail gas is increased, waste emission is reduced, the production cost is reduced, and resource utilization of materials is achieved.
