The invention discloses a fire-retardant belt for a building deformation joint. The fire-retardant belt is characterized by comprising a strip-shaped body (1) and an elastic supporting mechanism (2); the section of the strip-shaped body (1) is in a U shape, and the strip-shaped body (1) is formed by wrapping a surface protection layer (12) outside an internal fireproof heat insulation core (11); and the elastic supporting mechanism (2) comprises a plurality of elastic elements (21), and the elastic elements (21) act between the two walls of the U-shaped section of the strip-shaped body (1) to force the two walls of the U-shaped section of the strip-shaped body (1) to keep a certain distance. The fire-retardant belt is clamped and embedded in the building deformation joint by means of elastic opening, additional structure fixing is not needed, installation is convenient and fast, the construction period is greatly shortened, and the construction cost is greatly reduced.
