The invention discloses a preparation method of an anti-mud slow-release polycarboxylate water reducer. Acrylic acid, hydroxyethyl acrylate, 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate phosphate and isopentenol polyoxyethylene ether are used as reaction monomers, hydrogen peroxide/ascorbic acid is used as an initiator, mercaptopropionic acid is used as a chain transfer agent, and the novel anti-mud slow-release polycarboxylic acid water reducer is synthesized through free radical copolymerization reaction. Compared with a common polycarboxylic acid water reducer, the water reducer has low sensitivity to montmorillonite and has a good slow release function.
