The invention belongs to the field of engineering materials, and particularly relates to a carbon nanofiber modified FRP rib and a preparation method and application thereof. The method comprising the following steps: dispersing carbon nanofibers into a resin matrix to obtain modified resin, and compounding the modified resin with a non-conductive continuous fiber bundle to form the modified FPR rib. The modified FPR rib has a strain self-monitoring function, the purpose of mastering the strain of the modified FPR rib in real time is achieved by measuring the resistance of the modified FPR rib in use, and meanwhile, the modified FPR rib has the advantages of being free of damage to host materials, good in stability, flexible in distance measurement selection, free of special collecting and analyzing instruments, visual in result and the like. The invention also provides a preparation method and an application of the carbon nanofiber modified FRP rib. The resistance of the modified FRP rib in the concrete is monitored, and the purpose of monitoring the stress state of the FRP rib in the concrete is achieved by utilizing the force resistance effect of the modified FRP rib.
