The invention belongs to the field of constructional engineering, and particularly relates to a novel steel structure engineering support which comprises a base; a connecting rod is fixedly connected to the top end of the base; a sliding rod is slidably connected into the connecting rod; a supporting plate is welded to the top end of the sliding rod and is in an arc shape; circular grooves are evenly formed in the surface of the sliding rod; a cylinder is fixedly connected to the surface of the connecting rod; and a positioning rod is slidably connected into the cylinder and is in a U shape; the positioning rod is pulled to slide out of the circular groove, then the sliding rod slides to drive the supporting plate to move to a proper position, then the positioning rod is pushed to slide in the cylinder, and at the moment, the positioning rod slides into the circular groove, so that the sliding column is fixed by means of clamping connection of the positioning rod and the circular groove; and then the supporting plate is used for supporting the steel frame, so that the function of adjusting the height of the supporting plate is achieved, and the use range of the supporting plate is widened.
