The invention provides an intelligent water-saving irrigation system and application thereof.The irrigation system comprises a water collecting device arranged underground, a soil humidity sensor is arranged in planting soil close to the water collecting device, a water pumping part is arranged in the water collecting device, and a through hole is formed in the junction of the water collecting device and the ground; and the through hole is used for receiving rainwater. According to the intelligent water-saving irrigation system, the intelligent water-saving irrigation system is based on the idea of an intelligent garden, the soil humidity sensing technology is adopted, the sensing interval is scientifically set to control the water suction pump to operate, purified road runoff rainwater is stored through the water collecting device, tap water is automatically supplemented, a stable irrigation water source is kept, and the stable intelligent automatic irrigation system is formed; and the purposes of saving labor and water resources and finely managing and maintaining the road green belt are achieved.
