The invention discloses a stair handrail with a safety protection structure, which comprises a plurality of stand columns, a plurality of handrail rods, a plurality of small columns and an adapting hand rod, one end of each handrail rod is connected with the corresponding stand column, the other end of each handrail rod is connected with the adapting hand rod, and the small columns are arranged on the handrail rods and the adapting hand rod. The stair handrail further comprises a round elastic belt; a conveying device which comprises a first driving device, a rope, two rotating wheels and a second driving device, wherein the first driving device and the second driving device respectively drive one rotating wheel to rotate, and the two ends of the rope are respectively arranged on one rotating wheel; two guiding devices used for guiding the rope; a locking device used for fixing one rotating wheel in a static state; an area sensor; a fixing device arranged on the rope and used for driving the regional sensor to move along with the rope; a remote controller; and a controller. According to the invention, the situation that old people or people with difficulty in walking fall down and roll down the stairs in the process of going upstairs or downstairs can be effectively avoided, meanwhile, the corridor space is not occupied, and the operation is easy.
