The invention relates to building construction, in particular to a foundation pit safety protection device for building construction. The foundation pit safety protection device comprises a support and a protective net, the support comprises a main rod and connecting rods, the main rod is of a hollow structure, the connecting rods are inserted into the two ends of the main rod respectively, the outer ends of the connecting rods are hinged to rotating plates used for being connected with the inner wall of a foundation pit, the two ends of the side face of the main rod are fixedly connected with connecting blocks, and the upper portions of the connecting blocks are fixedly connected with positioning columns used for being connected with the protective net; a length adjusting structure is arranged between the main rod and the connecting rod, and a side reinforcing assembly is arranged on the upper portion of the main rod. The overall length of the main rod and the connecting rod can be adjusted to adapt to foundation pits with different sizes, and the angle between the connecting plate and the connecting rod can be flexibly adjusted to adapt to the inner walls of the foundation pits with different angles.
