The heat insulation refractory material is prepared from a basic raw material, an additive and water, the refractory material contains a calcium hexaluminate crystal phase, and the mass percentage of CaO in the chemical composition of the refractory material is 3.5-15%. The micro-nano pore heat insulation refractory material containing calcium hexaluminate is white, sub-white, faint yellow or yellow in appearance; in the refractory material, the pore size distribution of pores is 0.006-250 [mu] m, and the average pore size is 0.1-20 [mu] m. The existence of the micro-nano pore structure in the refractory material ensures that the product has better heat insulation performance under the conditions of low volume density and high strength.
