The invention relates to a lightweight microporous castable for a permanent lining of a steel ladle and a preparation method thereof, the lightweight microporous castable for the permanent lining of the steel ladle comprises the following components: 35-50% of flint clay, 35-45% of alumina hollow spheres, 10-15% of high bauxite powder, 3-6% of pure aluminate cement and 0.1-0.5% of a dispersant, totaling 100%. Wherein the aluminum oxide hollow spheres are low in heat conductivity, are excellent light heat insulation refractory materials, can provide good heat insulation performance for the light microporous castable serving as a permanent lining for a steel ladle, reduce heat loss of molten steel in the steel ladle, and avoid the phenomenon that the molten steel is prone to falling off due to fast heat loss. The phenomena of serious slag adhesion, nodulation, cold steel formation and the like of the ladle wall caused by temperature drop are avoided, and meanwhile, the existence of the heat insulation plate and the nano plate is replaced, so that the damage to a working layer refractory caused by thermal deformation of the heat insulation plate is avoided, the use safety of the steel ladle is also improved, and the effects of energy conservation, emission reduction and safety guarantee are also achieved for steelmaking enterprises.
