The invention discloses an assembly type beam column joint and a construction method. The assembly type beam column joint comprises prefabricated columns, cross beams connected between the prefabricated columns, and inclined struts connected and supported on the cross beams on the upper and lower adjacent layers. The cross beam comprises an I-shaped steel short beam vertically connected with the prefabricated column and a reinforced concrete beam with two ends respectively connected with the I-shaped steel short beam; an end plate is welded to the end, away from the prefabricated column, of the H-shaped steel short beam, a beam longitudinal bar of the reinforced concrete beam is fixedly connected to the end plate, and the extension connecting part is perpendicular to the end plate and used for being connected into the reinforced concrete beam in an extending mode. According to the fabricated beam-column joint, the joint connecting strength is high, construction is convenient and fast, the construction efficiency can be improved, and the construction progress can be accelerated.
