Disclosed herein are embodiments of an alloy configured to form a coating having two opposing physical behaviors: 1) reduced hardness, with the final result of ease of processing the coating, and 2) high wear resistance. Generally low hardness will result in low wear resistance. However, embodiments of the alloys described herein are capable of maintaining low hardness while exhibiting higher wear resistance.
