The invention discloses a preparation method of a magnesium oxide lightweight heat-insulation heat-preservation brick, which comprises the following steps: step 1, material preparation: selecting magnesia, an additive, glass fiber and water in proportion for later use; wherein the magnesite is screened before being used, impurities, large particles and small particles are removed, and the particle size range of the selected magnesite is 3-5 mm; 2, mixing: adding the magnesia, the additive, the glass fiber and the water into mixing equipment, and stirring until the materials are fully mixed; and step 3, preparing a green brick: injecting the mixed material into a mold, compacting the injected material, and demolding and drying after the material is cured to obtain the green brick. According to the invention, before use, the magnesia is screened, and impurities, large particles and small particles are extracted, so that the porosity and the overall structural strength of the brick body are controlled, the internal compactness difference of a rotating body is prevented from being too large, and the volume density, the heat conductivity coefficient, the structural strength of a product and the qualified rate are ensured to reach expectations.
