The invention discloses a tensioning method of a large-span vertical lift type plane bulkhead gate, which comprises the following steps of: 1, arranging a plurality of first inhaul cables distributed along the transverse direction at the bottom of a runner on the front side of a bulkhead gate groove at intervals, and then pulling the free ends of the first inhaul cables to the bank side or enabling the free ends to float on the water surface; secondly, a plurality of second inhaul cables corresponding to the first inhaul cables one by one are arranged on the upstream side of the bulkhead gate at intervals; thirdly, the bulkhead gate is placed in the bulkhead gate groove, and each pair of first inhaul cable and second inhaul cable are connected through a chain block; and fourthly, the chain block is tightened, so that the first inhaul cable and the second inhaul cable are in a tensioning state, and the bulkhead gate is reinforced. The bulkhead gate is suitable for river landscape engineering and ship lock engineering, and the adopted reinforcing structure is small in occupied area, uniform in stress, easy to manufacture and install, low in cost and very convenient to operate and maintain.
