The invention discloses a convenient engineering steel structure support for building construction, which comprises a plurality of telescopic rods, the top end of each telescopic rod is connected with a universal supporting seat, each telescopic rod comprises a middle rod body, an upper rod body and a lower rod body, and the upper rod body and the lower rod body are connected with the middle rod body through telescopic assemblies; the telescopic assembly comprises sliding rods which are fixed to the middle rod body and are installed on the upper rod body and the lower rod body in a sliding mode respectively, first screw rods which are installed between the middle rod body and the upper rod body and between the middle rod body and the lower rod body in a rotating mode respectively, and a first motor which drives the first screw rods to rotate. The plurality of moving wheels are connected to the side wall of each telescopic rod in a lifting manner through a sliding assembly; the first ends of the connecting rods are fixed on the side walls of the telescopic rods; and the main plate is jointly connected to the second ends of the connecting rods through universal joints. The technical problems that in the prior art, a formwork support is complex to assemble and poor in applicability are solved.
