The invention discloses a novel flood prevention baffle for a hydropower station traffic portal and a using method thereof.The novel flood prevention baffle comprises three blocking frames used for installing an isolation plate and a lifting assembly used for conducting lifting driving on the isolation plate, and the lifting assembly comprises a driving lead screw, a lifting pipe, a square pipe, a blocking groove, a blocking plate, a waterproof strip, a buckle, two square piers and an elastic plate; the driving lead screws are rotationally embedded in the tops of the outer walls of the blocking frames correspondingly. The traffic opening flood prevention baffle is improved to achieve rapid opening and closing of the flood prevention baffle, the water blocking function of the flood prevention baffle is upgraded, a plant is prevented from being flooded by flood at the traffic opening, safe and stable operation of a unit is guaranteed, the passing requirement of large equipment is met, and it is guaranteed that overhaul materials of the unit arrive at the site in time.
