The invention discloses a device and method for preventing accumulated snow from sliding and impacting on an arched roof, and relates to the field of building structures. A plurality of supporting arms protruding out of the outline of the arched roof are arranged at the preset height of the arched roof at intervals, and a grid is arranged between every two adjacent supporting arms. Small vertical columns which are perpendicular and protrude out of the roof are arranged at the positions, away from the ground by a certain height, of the arched roof, the small vertical columns are arranged along the longitudinal length of the roof along with a roof main structure, and profile steel grids which are longitudinally and continuously arranged along the roof are arranged on the portions, protruding out of the roof, of the small vertical columns to form a snow breaking blocking layer. Through the blocking layer, the speed that accumulated snow on the arched roof slides down to the ground is reduced, large snow blocks are dispersed, the snow is broken, and the impact of the accumulated snow sliding down to the ground and buildings adjacent to the arched roof is effectively weakened.
