The invention relates to a foundation for a wind power plant, comprising a footed section (11), which is substantially cast from concrete and has at least one tower fastening element (60), which is cast in place therein, and a substantially horizontally extending second section (12) as a planar foundation body, the first section (11) has a tower fixing element on which a tower of the wind power plant can be arranged and to which the tower of the wind power plant can be connected, and the second section (12) is arranged to be connected to the first section (11), and the second section (12) of the foundation (10) substantially comprises at least three prefabricated horizontal elements (22) and is preferably made of reinforced concrete. According to the invention, the at least three horizontal elements (22) each have at least one base section (23) with a reinforcing element (26) extending substantially vertically thereon, the horizontal elements (22) can be arranged depending on a parameter of the tower to be set, in particular the radius of the tower, and there is a distance (B) between the horizontal elements (22).
