The invention discloses an excavator working stage and working condition identification method which comprises the following steps: step 1, continuously detecting an excavator handle operation signal and a movable arm working angle signal, and judging and identifying the working stage of an excavator; the working stages comprise an excavation stage, a lifting rotation stage, an unloading stage and a reset rotation stage; 2, according to the characteristics of the working stage of the excavator, the working condition of the excavator is further recognized; the operation working conditions comprise a platform building working condition, a loading working condition and a squaring working condition. According to the technical scheme, the movable arm tilt angle sensor is additionally arranged, so that the recognition precision of the excavation stage and the platform building working condition is greatly improved; pressure change characteristics of an oil inlet and an oil outlet of the hydraulic motor are creatively used for identifying the loading working condition and the tossing working condition, and the problem of fuzzy judgment of the loading working condition and the tossing working condition is solved; programs are simple and clear, identification is accurate, the speed is high, and existing controller resources are not excessively occupied.
