The invention discloses a method for constructing a canyon reservoir dam with a goaf underground. The method comprises the following steps: 1, site selection of the reservoir dam; secondly, dam reinforcing piles are constructed; 3, earth excavation and reservoir dam construction; 4, determining a bearing design value of the covering plate on the goaf; 5, reinforcing the covering plate on the goaf; sixthly, waterproof treatment is conducted on the goaf upper covering plate and the reservoir dam; and 7, protecting the upper surface of the waterproof layer. The reservoir dam and the stratum bottom plate are reinforced into a whole through the dam reinforcing piles, the friction force of the reservoir dam is increased, it is avoided that the reservoir dam is pushed by accumulated water of the dam, the bearing design value of the upper covering plate of the goaf is determined, and the construction safety of the canyon reservoir dam is guaranteed by reinforcing the upper covering plate of the goaf; water leakage of a canyon reservoir dam is avoided through waterproof treatment and upper surface protection of a waterproof layer, and canyons with goaf underground are reused.
