An operation input device (1) according to one embodiment is provided with: a display device (15) that displays information by irradiating light; an aerial imaging device (14) that reflects light from the display device (15) a plurality of times and displays the display surface (10) with the switch (11) in the air as a virtual image; a sensor (12) that detects the position of an object in the proximity switch (11); and a determination unit that determines whether or not the switch (11) has been operated on the basis of the position of the object detected by the sensor (12). A viewpoint position (A) at which the eyes of an operator operating the switch (11) are located is set in advance. The aerial imaging device (14) is disposed on a straight line connecting the viewpoint position (A) and the display surface (10).
