The invention relates to a sanitary fitting (1), at least comprising: a fitting housing (2) having an outflow (4) with an outflow opening (3); a valve adapter (5) arranged in the fitting housing (2); a valve (6) for at least partially closing the outflow opening (3), which valve is at least partially arranged in a valve adapter (5); and a connecting element (7) for connecting a water guide device (8) arranged in the outlet (4) to the water opening (9) of the valve adapter (5), the connecting element (7) being fixed to the valve adapter (5) by means of a linear sliding guide (10). The invention also relates to a method for assembling a sanitary fitting (1).
