The invention provides an assembly type bent cap and pier column combined structure and a construction method thereof. The assembly type bent cap and pier column combined structure comprises a prefabricated bent cap and a prefabricated pier column. The prefabricated cover beam is an ultra-high performance concrete hollow shell and comprises a top plate, a web plate, a bottom plate and a cover beam convex connector. A plurality of transverse partition plates are arranged in a cavity defined by the top plate, the web plates and the bottom plate, and the cavity is divided into a plurality of cavities. A concrete inner core is arranged in a cavity in the middle of the ultra-high performance concrete hollow shell; a top steel plate is arranged at the top of the ultra-high performance concrete hollow shell; the bent cap convex joint is arranged in the middle of a bottom plate of the ultra-high performance concrete hollow shell; a groove is formed in the top of the prefabricated pier column; the bent cap convex joint is inserted into a groove in the top of the prefabricated pier column; the bent cap convex connector is fixedly connected with a groove in the top of the prefabricated pier column through a wet joint. By means of the method, the problem that traffic needs to be closed to cause congestion during construction of the large cantilever bent cap in a large city can be solved.
