The invention relates to a fastening device (1) for a sanitary component (2) to be suspended, comprising at least: at least one adapter pin (3) arranged to receive or comprise a retaining pin (5) for the sanitary component (2) at a first end (4) and further having a widened retaining projection (7) at a second end (6); and at least one rotatable projection retaining device (8), which is arranged to receive and latch the retaining projection (7) of the adapter pin (3). The invention further relates to a method for permanently hanging a ceramic sanitary component (2) on a wall and to the use of such a fastening device (1).
