The invention discloses a steel pipe external scaffold and a connecting device of the steel pipe external scaffold and a metal safety net piece. The connecting bolt is vertically and fixedly arranged at one end of the connecting steel pipe in a penetrating manner; the flat steel connecting piece comprises an extension horizontal steel plate which is inserted into the connecting steel pipe and is fixedly arranged on the connecting steel pipe through the connecting bolts, and two vertical plates which are welded above the extension horizontal steel plate in parallel at intervals, and the two vertical plates form an inserting groove for installing a metal safety net piece; the angle plate is welded below the extension horizontal steel plate; and a transverse plate of the angle plate faces one side of the connecting steel pipe on the inner side. The metal safety net piece can be safely, reliably and rapidly installed on the steel pipe external scaffold, and the effects of being convenient to connect, rapid to install, high in universality and good in applicability are achieved.
