The invention relates to the field of road public facilities, in particular to a municipal road safety deceleration strip and a construction method thereof.The deceleration strip comprises a deceleration device, a side plate, a first supporting plate, a first vertical rod, a second vertical rod, a second supporting plate, a sliding block, a supporting block, a third reset spring and a construction groove. The side plates are fixed on the left and right side walls of the construction groove; the first supporting plate is fixed to the middle of the side plate. The second supporting plate is fixed to the top of the side plate. The speed reduction device penetrates through the second supporting plate; the first vertical rod and the second vertical rod are arranged in the construction groove side by side. The supporting block is located below the middle of the first vertical rod and the second vertical rod, and the sliding block is arranged above the supporting block. When the vehicle passes at a low speed in the forward direction, the bumpy feeling of the vehicle is almost avoided, and when the vehicle passes at a high speed and runs in the reverse direction, the bumpy feeling of the vehicle is maximum, so that the purpose of bumpy deceleration of the high-speed and reverse-running vehicles is achieved.
