The invention discloses a method for treating heavy metal contaminated soil by utilizing a newly-built expressway, which comprises the following steps: casting a barrier landfill device on a roadbed of the newly-built expressway in situ or prefabricating the barrier landfill device on a prefabricating site, and filling the barrier landfill device with contaminated soil; according to the method for treating the heavy metal contaminated soil through the newly-built expressway, the structure is reasonable, the structure is arranged at the bottom of the newly-built expressway, the contaminated soil is placed in the prefabricated barrier landfill device, and pollutant permeation is effectively prevented through combination of geotechnical cloth and an HDPE membrane; meanwhile, the amount of backfill soil in the highway building process is reduced, and the construction cost can be controlled easily.
