A roof tent assembly for a vehicle is disclosed. The roof tent assembly includes a base secured to a roof portion of the vehicle. One end of the base is connected with the extension plate in a hinged mode so as to provide a shielded living space, and a top cover is fixed to the other end of the base so as to cover the car roof tent assembly. The top cover is formed by welding a checkered plate to a top portion of the housing frame. After opening the roof, the tent assembly is positioned over the base of the vehicle by pulling down a ladder secured to the extension panel and adjusting the extension panel until the extension panel is parallel to the base. The internal sealing system is provided with a gasket secured to an internal flange on the bottom portion of the roof cover to prevent water, dust, and other particles from entering the roof tent assembly when closed.
