The invention discloses an inorganic material coated polyphenyl granule aerogel composite thermal insulation material and a preparation method thereof. The thermal insulation composite material prepared by the invention is relatively low in dry density and heat conductivity coefficient; the thermal insulation material has enough good physical and mechanical properties, so that an anti-crack protective layer is not needed under the condition that the application thickness of the inorganic material coated polyphenyl granule aerogel composite thermal insulation material is within 35mm, the system structure and the construction procedure are simplified, the construction period is shortened, the system cost is reduced and the like; and 3, in order to enable the system to have reliable application performance, light anti-crack waterproof heat-preservation putty is developed and matched, so that the system has reliable crack resistance after the anti-crack protective layer is cancelled. The thermal insulation composite material prepared by the invention can be applied to common concrete walls or other common masonry walls, and the thickness of the material is within 30mm, so that the energy-saving design requirements of most buildings can be met.
