The invention belongs to the field of beam bridge construction, and provides a cantilever cover beam construction method which comprises the following steps: pouring a prefabricated foundation and a full framing foundation by using concrete; a support body is erected according to the foundation position of the full framing, and a longitudinal beam support is installed; the support body and the longitudinal beam support are pre-pressed through steel bars, and then the support body and the longitudinal beam support are adjusted; a truss is built on the bottom die of the longitudinal beam support after adjustment is completed; after the truss is built, a bent cap body is laid on the truss body and the longitudinal beam support through steel bars; after the capping beam body is laid, steel beam prestress tensioning and pipeline installation and reinforcement are conducted; after the pipeline is installed, the capping beam body and the pipeline are subjected to grouting and compacting treatment through structural concrete; a side formwork is installed according to the size of a bent cap body after grouting and compacting treatment; after the side formworks are installed, concrete is poured to form a bent cap; and after the bent cap is formed, the supports and the side molds are detached. The problems that materials are wasted and the construction efficiency is low during cantilever bent cap construction are solved.
