The invention relates to the field of buildings, in particular to a prefabricated light partition board for buildings and a mounting method thereof.The prefabricated light partition board comprises a wallboard unit, a protective cylinder and a connecting fastener, a plurality of through holes are formed in the wallboard unit in a criss-cross mode, cylinder grooves are formed in the ends of the through holes in the side edge of the wallboard unit at intervals, the protective cylinder is mounted in one cylinder groove, and the connecting fastener is connected with the protective cylinder. Two ends of each connecting fastener are respectively clamped in the two protective cylinders, a plurality of connecting fasteners are mounted between the adjacent wallboard units, and two ends of each wallboard unit are provided with pre-embedded wire grooves, so that the wallboard units are convenient to splice by designing the butt-joint locking type connecting fasteners; after splicing, the locking mechanism can enable the two adjacent wallboard units not to move relatively, and the problems that an existing partition board is inconvenient to connect, not firm enough and prone to cracking are solved.
