The invention relates to the field of photovoltaic roofs, and the photovoltaic roof comprises a waterproof panel which is arranged on a roof. The multiple sets of combined connecting pieces are arranged on the waterproof panel in the direction perpendicular to the ridge, and each set of combined connecting pieces are arranged in the direction parallel to the ridge; the supporting piece is detachably connected to the connecting piece; one group of photovoltaic power generation panels is arranged between every two adjacent groups of supporting pieces, and the photovoltaic power generation panels are in lap joint with the supporting pieces; and the photovoltaic roof ridge cover plate is arranged above the ridge. The invention further discloses a construction method of the photovoltaic roof, so that two waterproof layers are formed on the roof. The effect of improving the waterproof performance of the photovoltaic roof is achieved.
