The invention discloses a construction method of a muck pool with a large-height-difference buttress retaining wall. The construction method comprises the following steps that the buttress retaining wall which is vertically arranged is constructed on a structural top plate of an open excavation section tunnel behind an underground excavation section tunnel, the top of the buttress retaining wall is close to the ground, and the two sides of the buttress retaining wall are connected with enclosure structures on the two sides of the open excavation section tunnel correspondingly; performing waterproof construction on the top surface of the structural top plate and the wall back surface of the buttress retaining wall to form a waterproof structural layer; earthwork backfilling is conducted in the space defined by the enclosure structures on the two sides, the structural top plates and the buttress retaining walls to form a backfill soil layer; and a deslagging pool bottom plate and a buttress side wall are constructed on the top of the backfill soil layer, the buttress side wall is vertically arranged on the deslagging pool bottom plate in a supported mode, the buttress side wall and the buttress retaining wall are arranged in parallel in a spaced mode, and the two sides of the buttress side wall are further connected with enclosure structures on the two sides of the open excavation section tunnel correspondingly. According to the construction method, the technical problem of construction of the muck pool after tunnel excavation is solved, the capacity of the muck pool is larger than that of a muck pool constructed on a shortcut, and the muck pool does not occupy the shortcut.
