Magneto-optical transparent ceramic as well as preparation method and application thereof
The invention discloses magneto-optical transparent ceramic and a preparation method and application thereof.The general chemical formula of the magneto-optical transparent ceramic is Ho3Sc2Al3O12, the preparation method comprises the steps that S1, mixed powder containing holmium oxide, scandium oxide, aluminum oxide and a sintering aid is subjected to compression molding, and then a biscuit is obtained; and S2, pre-sintering the biscuit obtained in the step S1, carrying out vacuum sintering, and annealing to obtain the magneto-optical transparent ceramic. The prepared magneto-optical transparent ceramic has excellent linear transmittance, stable thermal performance and high magneto-optical performance, and compared with a mainstream commercial terbium-based magneto-optical material, the preparation method adopted by the magneto-optical transparent ceramic has the advantages of being low in raw material cost and low in preparation cost. And the application of the magneto-optical transparent material in an optical isolator or an optical modulator can be further promoted.
