The invention discloses a steel bridge main beam installation method. The method comprises the following steps that A, a steel bridge main beam is manufactured and machined in a segmented mode; b, bridge pier construction; c, the roadbed box is assembled; d, a temporary support is erected; e, a secondary beam is fixed between the two parallel cross beams; f, the connecting columns of the cross beams are inserted into the steel pipes; g, hoisting the main beam of the steel bridge in sections; and H, the steel structure is recycled. The steel members used for supporting the steel bridge can be detachably connected, the welding procedure is reduced, then the supporting frame and the cross beam of the steel members can be recycled, and the energy-saving and environment-friendly concept is met.
