The invention discloses an installation and construction method for a midspan steel box girder of a steel-concrete hybrid girder. The installation and construction method comprises the following steps that firstly, the steel box girder is manufactured into steel box girder sections in a factory according to design requirements, and the steel box girder sections are transported to a construction site; secondly, the steel box girder sections are spliced on the construction site; thirdly, the corresponding steel box girders are hoisted according to design requirements, and welding operation on the outer portions of the steel box girders is conducted after checking; fourthly, constructors enter the steel box girder subjected to external welding to conduct internal welding operation; fifthly, after welding operation of all the steel box girders is completed, follow-up construction is conducted on the midspan area; according to the construction method, the midspan area steel box girder of the steel-concrete hybrid girder is manufactured in a split mode in the girder width direction, hoisting positioning is conducted through a positioning part on a steel box girder body and an auxiliary positioning tool, and steel-concrete connecting segments and the steel box girder are welded and fixed synchronously while hoisting is conducted. The problems that an existing viaduct midspan area steel box girder is long in construction period, high in construction cost and the like are solved.
