A medial strip closed conduit sequentially penetrating through the pedestrian passage, the first green belts, the vehicle passages and the second green belts is further arranged in the medial strip, the pedestrian passage is provided with an open caisson communicated with the medial strip closed conduit and a passing cover plate used for opening and closing the open caisson, and a filter plate and a crawling ladder are arranged on the bottom wall and the side wall of the open caisson respectively. The medial strip closed conduit is provided with an upper channel body extending to the two sides of the first green belt and the two sides of the second green belt, and a plurality of drainage holes are formed in the upper channel body. The rainwater garden type medial strip drainage structure and the construction method solve the problem that the space for pipe network expansion, improvement and reconstruction of an existing municipal road is insufficient.
